Ways to Prevent Fraud on Your Account

Do you recognize the email, the text, the phone number, the merchant, or person contacting you about your account? If not proceed with caution and be protective of any information you give out.

Do you recognize the transaction on your account?  Ask yourself or other account owners is this something I initiated or authorized, is the amount familiar?  Sometimes transactions that are legit come in on a statement in a different name.

Did you know Metro has a Fraud Center that will contact cardholders when a card transaction is suspicious? Our Fraud Center will text, and email you asking only to verify transactions and as part of the verification process they will provide a code that must be included as part of the  communication with them.  They will NEVER ask for card number or account number.  If they do not reach you by text or email they will try to call you.

When in doubt if you are not sure about a communication about your account, or who is contacting you please know that you can contact Metro directly and we will be happy to help you.
